Sunday, April 17, 2011 Referee Mentoring Program By PRafac @ 9:53 PM :: 352 Views   Beginning on Saturday April 23, 2011, a more organized mentoring program will begin for the Elmhurst AYSO Region 399. This program’s goal is to offer support and advice from our more experienced referees to our referee corps that will assist individuals in improving their skills on the field. The mentors are individuals who have been on the pitch for a long enough time to have developed efficient ways of performing their duties and handling issues on the field. They have offered their time to come to the fields of those requesting to be mentored and observe the match. Sometime after the match, they will discuss the match with the center or assistant referee and offer ways by which the individual could perform their duties in a more proficient and/or effective manner. This is a program that most new referees and those moving up in badge level should be using. We have a large number of experienced referees who have signed up to be mentors.
